Swansea Labour Council are planning thousands of extra homes across north Swansea - with significant ramifications for our local community. Local MP Byron Davies said “I’m really concerned about these proposals as a whole host of villages and towns across north Swansea will become completely unrecognisable to how they look today.” Among Swansea Labour Council’s proposals are:
• 750 more homes in Pontarddulais - with local schools and health facilities struggling to cope.
• 850 more homes in Penllergaer - almost doubling the size of the village.
• 750 more homes in Garden Village - with a serious effect on local road infrastructure.
• 250 more homes in Gorseinon, at the expense of Parc Melyn Mynach.
Local Assembly candidate, Lyndon Jones said “Labour’s plans are causing chaos right across north Swansea. They will have a dramatic effect on our roads, schools, health facilities and local parks. Swansea Labour Council are treating north Swansea like a building site and it needs to stop.”
